How can i set a transparent color ?
I tried 'BACKGROUND_COLOR' => array( 0, 255, 0 ,0.4 )

Gradient colors are not implemented, it could be a feature request.
Currently you can set a transparent background like this:

'BACKGROUND_COLOR' => false
